Product Recommendations in the Drag and Drop Email Template Builder

In the Drag and Drop Email Template Builder, your email will be populated with unique product recommendations depending on the stage you have selected. The default product recommendations are chosen by the AI based on what it knows about the stage and the user. While building your email, you can customize various components of the product recommendation, such as the product name text and the alternate text.

Locate Product Recommendations in the Template Builder

Product Recommendations can be found in the  Drag and Drop Email Template Builder within the body of the email. To access the Drag and Drop Email Template Builder, create a new email.

Within the Template Builder, you'll see the placeholder product recommendations, which look like this:

All you need to do it update the other elements like header, footer, font size and color, etc. The following is what the product recommendation will look like in a sent email. You can also do a test send in order to see how the populated product recommendation yourself.

Components of the Product Recommendation

Dynamic image: Toggled on so the dynamic image URL merge tag can be placed. In this example, it is the product image URL 1 - {{rs_riu1}}

Note: In the Cart Abandon stage, this is an item left in their shopping cart.

Alternate text: By default, it is set to "Product Rec 1" (or 2, 3, 4, etc). Alternate text or alt text is the text that shows up when your cursor hovers over the image in an email.

Image link: This is for the dynamic product URL merge tag. In this example, it is the product URL 1 - {{rs_rpu1}} (in the Cart Abandon stage, this is the URL to the product page of the item left in their shopping cart). 

Text block for product name: Under the product recommendation block of the template, there is a text block with the dynamic product 1 name - {{rs_rn1}}.

Customize the Product Recommendation

The following components of the Product Recommendation block can be edited:

Alternate text: Alternate text or alt text is the text that shows up when your cursor hovers over the image in an email. This field default to "Product Rec 1" (or 2, 3, 4, etc). Edit this to make it more on brand. For example, you could change it to your company name or "shop now". 

Text block for product name: You can edit the text color, font, size, or alignment. 

For each additional product recommendation block in an email, follow the same editing steps as above. Keep in mind the logic for each recommendation block and the order of the numbers. For example, for the Cart Abandon stage, the logic is as follows: 1 = item left in shopping cart, 2 = first product recommendation, 3 = second product recommendation, 4 = third product recommendation, etc. More info on merge tags can be found here.
