Starter Templates are a great way to establish a baseline for your templates that can be re-used anywhere in the Cortex environment. Use them to store standard header/footer content for new templates, or to store basic "skeletons" for each stage's messaging.
Creating a new starter template is just like creating a standard template, except it is not required to be finished. When creating your starter template, you can choose to create it as a starter template for a specific stage, or you can choose "All" to allow the starter template to appear for all stages within Cortex.
Build a Starter Template
- Click Starter Templates from the navigation bar.
- Click New Template.
- Name your template.
- Choose All or a specify a particular Cortex stage to use this template within.
- Click Ok.
- Select whether to build your Starter Template within the HTML Editor or the Template Builder. Then click Continue to Editor.
- Build your Starter Template. Then click Save.
The recently created Starter Template will be visible in the Starter Templates menu for future use.
Use a Starter Template
While creating a new email, clicking on "Templates" will retrieve all of the available Starter Templates. Selecting a Starter Template from the list will create a new email using the formatting of the pre-built Starter Template.
